Hazlewood, 35, has played 76 Test matches but has never won a Test series for Australia in India or England. Australia last won an Ashes series away from home in 2001, while their last Test series win in India was in 2004.“The group has been together for a long time, at least for most of it,” Hazlewood was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz. “The big series is obviously England and India. I haven’t won in South Africa either, so the next three games are something to tick off not just for me but for the whole group.”“I think that’s a driving factor in the preparation, a bit in the back of your mind, even months before going into it. Some really big Test series, they’ve all gone away, obviously those big Tests. Tough competition and hopefully we can get the job done.”Hazlewood is also hoping to return to the Test squad after missing last summer’s Ashes with hamstring and Achilles injuries. If selected, it would be his first Test in 13 months and the longest gap between Tests in his career.He could compete with Scott Boland for the third fast bowler spot in the eleven. Chief selector George Bailey has previously said Bolan had closed the gap in the selection race.Hazlewood said he hopes to play more Test matches with Boland, who often misses out whenever Australia’s three first-choice fast bowlers are available.“I think [Boland and I have] Only played one game together – at Edgbaston [in the 2023 Ashes] — and I would love to play more games with Scotty,” Hazlewood said. “We’re obviously a bit similar, but I think there’s still a lot of differences in our bowling. “Australia will begin their two-Test series against Bangladesh on August 13 in Darwin.
