About the protest
According to the Cockroach People’s Party (CJP), which is leading the agitation, Wangchuk has lost nearly 9 kilograms since starting his indefinite fast. The protests started on June 20 mainly against alleged irregularities in the NEET examination. Wangchuk participated in the demonstration on June 28.The group has demanded the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and sought compensation of Rs 1 crore for the family of a NEET aspirant who allegedly committed suicide following an exam controversy. The CJP has also announced a peaceful march to Parliament on July 20, coinciding with the opening day of the monsoon session.
