bollywood actor Shilpa Shirodkar She recently recalled a horrific incident in the early 1990s when she almost drowned while shooting for the song “Sanam Mere Sanam”. Govinda “Buzz” for the movie. She revealed that the set at that time did not even have basic safety measures, no life jackets, and no rescue arrangements.On the latest episode of India’s Best Dancer Season 5, Shilpa received a special video message from Govinda, who fondly recalled their successful collaboration before sharing the dramatic behind-the-scenes story.Recalling the incident, Govinda said, “Wow, use tairna nahi aata. Halanki mujhe bhi, main bhi koi accha swimmer toh tha nahi. Shilpa paani mein doob gayi aur main akela chalaam hoon. ‘Haye haye Shaihara? Phil? Main jaake Shilpa ko baahar nikala. Ab baahar aate heen Shilpa boli, “Tujhya aayela…arey isse kaha tha ki mujhe abhi swimming nahi aati hain, kaaye ko isme daal diya hain?” (She can’t swim. To be honest, I’m not a very good swimmer either. Shilpa suddenly sank into the water, leaving me alone in the boat. I kept shouting, “Where is Shilpa?” She had disappeared under the water. I jumped in and pulled her out. She came out and scolded everyone in Marathi, saying she had told them she couldn’t swim and questioning why she was being filmed).Govinda’s vivid retelling made Shilpa laugh out loud as she recreated the chaotic scene. Looking back on the experience, the actress said working conditions during that period were very different from today’s standards.“In my case I was shooting karts and Bohotkin Chunk recorded it. Main leather pants mein thi aur wahan pe WB Rao Sir dusre boat mein aise bol rahe pose karne, I was panicking because we were in the water. There were only four people there. No life jacket, kuch nahi. That’s how we worked back then. (The conditions we used to shoot were completely different. There were very few people on the set. I wore leather pants. WB Sir Rao asked me to pose on another boat. I panicked because we were in the middle of the water with only four people around us. There are no life jackets or any safety equipment.
