Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has officially entered a new phase in his personal life. The actor married his long-time partner Gauri Spratt in an intimate ceremony at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai on Sunday. Rather than a lavish celebration, the couple opted for a private registration ceremony attended only by close family members and a handful of friends.
Newlyweds have 13 years age difference
Aamir Khan was born on March 14, 1965 and is now 61 years old, while Gauri Sprat was born on August 21, 1978 and is now 47 years old. The age difference between the couple is 13 years. However, their relationship is based on a connection that goes back decades, rather than a recent acquaintance.Aamir and Gauri first met about 25 years ago, but romance was never part of the issue then. Their lives took different directions until fate brought them together again in Bangalore in 2024 through Aamir’s cousin Nuzat Khan. After reuniting, the two spent about a year in a long-distance relationship before making their relationship official. Aamir finally introduced Gauri to the world at his 60th birthday celebrations in March 2025, calling her his “partner” and ending months of speculation surrounding his personal life.Soon after, Gauri moved to Mumbai from Bangalore with her son from a previous marriage. Around the same time, she resigned from her position at the hair care company and became associated with Aamir Khan Productions, which recently celebrated its 25th anniversary.
An intimate wedding celebration
The wedding deliberately avoids the spotlight. Aamir’s children from his first marriage to Reena Dutta, Ira Khan and Junaid Khan, were among the family members present at the event. The guest list also included filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker, who worked with Aamir on “Lagaan”, and actor Elli Avr Ram, making the event a close-knit celebration rather than a star-studded affair.
Aamir Khan’s marriage over the years
This is Aamir Khan’s third marriage. He was previously married to film producer Kiran Rao, whom he met while filming the Oscar-nominated film Lagaan, where she worked as an assistant director. The two tied the knot in December 2005 and welcomed son Azad Rao Khan via surrogacy in 2011.Although Aamir and Kiran announced their separation in 2021 after 16 years of marriage, they have always maintained a cordial relationship. The pair have called each other close friends over the years and continue to co-parent Azad while collaborating professionally on various projects.
