Sanjay Khan’s wife Zareen Khan He died in November last year. When she married a Muslim and was born a Parsi, she was cremated according to Hindu rites. When questions were raised, Zareen’s daughter, jewelry designer Farah Khan Ali, broke her silence in a recent interview. She revealed that the reason Zarin wanted to be cremated was because she wanted her ashes to be immersed in water. Farrah became emotional as she spoke about her death in an interview with Vicky Lalwani, saying: “She was so energetic that she fell asleep at night. She was very calm and when she passed away, there was no pain.” She further added, “She always told us that I pray to my Sai Baba and when I leave, I immediately fall asleep. Even though she was born a Parsi and married a Muslim, she asked us to cremate her as a Hindu because she wanted her ashes to be immersed in the running waters of Kashmir. She was claustrophobic in the tomb. This was one of the reasons why she wanted to be cremated as a Hindu. When she died, there were many unkind comments about why we should cremate her as a Hindu. I come from a family where we were taught to love all religions and celebrate all holidays. I can ignore trolls just fine. I’m an expert at ignoring trolls. At the end of the day, you only have so much time and you just need to focus on the people that matter and the people you love. ” She further revealed, “At her prayer service, we had five priests from different religions – Parsi, Sikh, Hindu, Christian, Muslim, and they all said different prayers, and then the children and all of us talked about her. Over 2,000 people attended her prayer service because she was so loved.” When asked how he coped with Sanjay Khan’s death, Farah said: “I don’t think men take loss very well. My father was no different. He also took my mother for granted because she was always there and today I think he misses her deeply. But he was also a man who kept himself very busy because if he didn’t keep himself together, he would be in deep pain.” He’s not taking it well and he’s dealing with it like we all do. ” She burst into tears as she missed her mother and said: “I write to her to tell her about my day and what she means to me. I write every other day. She was my universe, my world. There will never be another Zareen Sanjay Khan. She had two superpowers, to give love to everyone, and to forgive and forget.”
