New claims surrounding Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious mythological epic Ramayana have sparked an online debate. Content creator Dhruv Parikshit, who recently attended a special creator event on the sets of the film, alleged that the makers deliberately released a glimpsed version of Ranbir Kapoor’s Lord Rama with incomplete visuals to generate online conversations and publicity.According to him, the purpose of the strategy is to generate buzz through audience discussion and criticism, thereby achieving what he calls “free marketing.”
Creator shares his interactions with the film’s visual effects team
After the visit, Dhruv posted photos and videos of the event on social media. In response to a follower’s question about the visuals, he initially said that some of the footage shown during the visit was not yet complete.“Yes, it’s not complete,” he wrote. “But the vision they had, I really can’t put it into words. The scenes I witnessed there were of Avatar quality. I’m not exaggerating, they are actually doing some great things. The character designs and world of Ramayana feel incredibly immersive. “He further claimed to have spoken to a VFX artist associated with the project, adding, “I also had the opportunity to speak with one of their VFX artists. He told me that the creators intentionally uploaded watered-down versions of Rama’s glimpses. They had better versions of these scenes, but they deliberately chose to release incomplete versions. Why? Because discussion and criticism on the internet translates into free marketing.“
Original comment deleted due to viral spread
Shortly after, Dhruv deleted the original comment and issued a clarification. He explained that work on the visual effects was going well and praised the scale of the film.“VFX pe kaam chal raha hai, kaafi accha kaam ho bhi Gaya hai. Humko kuch incomplete fragment bhi dikhaye, i believe vo has completed ho chuke hain mahino pahle hi. And bhai, the character design! ! They are so beautiful! They are absolutely great. It’s more like a very beautiful fantasy world, but in an Indian context. This will be a great theater experience,” he wrote.Despite the clarification, screenshots of his earlier remarks soon circulated on social media, sparking speculation about the film’s promotional strategy.
‘Ramayana’ trailer divides viewers
Earlier this year, the makers gave the first look at Ramayana and introduced Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama. While many appreciated the scale and cinematic ambition of the trailer, others criticized some of the visual effects, CGI, and the look of certain Rakshasa characters. The production team then assured viewers that the visual effects would continue to be refined before the film’s release.
Star-studded cast and release schedule
Ramayana is directed by Nitesh Tiwari and stars Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Sai Pallavi, Ravie Dubey and Sunny Deol. The first part is expected to be released in theaters before Diwali 2026, while the second part is expected to be released in 2027.
