The case has now been postponed to Monday after the film’s producers assured the court that the film and its trailer would not be released before the next hearing.During the proceedings, lawyers representing the filmmakers informed the court that only the trailer of Kalashiran has been released so far. The lawyer also said that a detailed reply to Salman Khan’s petition would be filed and clarified that the film itself is yet to be released.The filmmakers further assured the court that they would not send the film to the court central board of film certification (CBFC) for certification till Monday.Justice Jyoti Singh said that if the filmmakers were convinced that the film would not be released in the next few days, they should formally put that assurance on record. The courts require their lawyers to seek instructions from their clients and return with a clear position. After consulting the filmmakers, their lawyers pointed out that Salman Khan had not alleged that CBFC was a party to the case. The lawyer argued that no film can be released without board certification and reiterated that Kalashiran has not yet been submitted for approval.“We will not send it to the CBFC until Monday,” the lawyer assured the court. Taking note of the statement, the High Court recorded the response of the filmmakers and directed that the matter be listed for hearing on Monday.Earlier, Salman Khan’s lawyers had urged the court to direct the filmmakers to formally commit that the film would not be released during this period. The lawyer said the matter involved an alleged violation of the actor’s personality rights and sought interim relief.The court subsequently accepted the filmmaker’s undertaking that the film would not be submitted to the CBFC before Monday and scheduled the next hearing accordingly.Salman Khan has approached the Delhi High Court seeking relief from the makers of Kala Hiran. More details about the dispute are expected to be released when the case is heard again next week.
