Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon Rashmika Mandanna and Rashmika Mandanna filmed portions of their romantic entertainer “Cocktail 2” in real locations, with Sicily and Delhi as the main backdrops. While overseas filming is progressing smoothly, the Delhi filming schedule is reportedly facing a series of challenges due to deteriorating air quality in the capital.Producer Sumit Tyagi, who is associated with the film, recently shared an anecdote on the Shivam podcast about the actor’s concerns over the pollution levels in Delhi.
Shahid reportedly refuses to leave home without air purifier
According to Tyagi, the production team was told that Shahid Kapoor would not leave his vanity to shoot outdoors unless an air purifier was arranged. The sequence was shot at Cyber City in Gurgaon, a requirement that was difficult to fulfill as the location was completely open.Recalling the incident, he said: “This is for Shahid, so we can’t say they are useless. Because Shahid said I will not get out of the car. He only took off the mask before shooting, otherwise he kept wearing the mask.”Tyagi further questioned the practicality of this arrangement. She said: “We shot in Digital City. What is the use of air purifiers there? They are all open.”
The production department tries its best to meet the requirements
Staff revealed that although the air purifiers are mainly used indoors, five to six were arranged at the last minute. He clarified that Shahid’s concerns about poor air quality were understandable, but acknowledged that the equipment would do little to improve conditions for outdoor filming.“So you’re not hurt because your request wasn’t met, and the production did its best,” Tyagi explained, describing the team’s effort.

During the conversation, Tyagi also described Shahid Kapoor as “grumpy” and “free-spirited”, claiming that the actor prefers to maintain professional boundaries and focus primarily on his work.This isn’t the first time Shahid’s on-set habits have made headlines. Earlier, his “Kabir Singh” co-star Kiara Advani in “Koffee with Karan” revealed that the shoot was delayed by a few hours due to the actor’s decision to choose shoes for a particular scene.
About “Cocktail 2”
A spiritual successor to Cocktail, the film tells the story of college sweethearts Kunal and Diya, who live happily together but remain hesitant about marriage. Their relationship is tested during a vacation in Sicily when Dia reunites with her childhood friend Ellie. As emotions get complicated and Aly develops feelings for Kunal, the three find themselves in a love triangle. Eventually, Kunal becomes loyal to Diya and the two tie the knot.
