Singer Lauren Bennett has died at the age of 37. She is best known for her appearance on LMFAO’s hit song “Party Rock Anthem” and is a former member of girl groups Paradiso Girls and GRL.Her former GRL bandmates Paula van Oppen, Natasha Slayton and Emmalyn Estrada shared a message on the band’s joint Instagram account on Monday.“It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Lauren,” the statement began.“Our hearts are broken and we cannot express how much she meant to us. We will forever cherish the love, laughter and countless memories she gave us.” Her beautiful spirit touched many lives and she will be deeply missed and forever loved. “The trio concluded: “RIP my dear Lauren. You will always be in our hearts. Your GRL, Em, Tash and P.”Bennett’s cause of death has not been revealed.

From Paradise Girls to GRL

Bennett began her music career as a member of the Paradise Girls, a pop group formed by Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin. The band’s first single “Patron Tequila” was released in 2009 by Eve and Lil Jon and ranked third on the Billboard Dance Club Songs Chart.After Paradiso Girls were dropped by Interscope Records in 2010, Bennett began a solo career. She collaborates with artists such as CeeLo Green and Will. I. am, and appeared on LMFAO’s hit “Party Rock Anthem,” which spent six weeks at No. 1 on the 2011 Billboard Hot 100 chart.She later joined GRL, which debuted in 2013. The band released their first single “Vacation” for the Smurfs 2 soundtrack, and later collaborated with Pitbull on “Wild Wild Love” in 2014. Later that year, GRL released her debut self-titled EP.

Keep making music

Bennett is the second member of the GRL to die. Member Simone Battle died in 2014 at the age of 25, and her death was ruled a suicide. The group disbanded the following year.In recent years, Bennett has released music independently, including the songs “Reality” and “Hurricane.” She has also reunited with her former GRL bandmates to work on various projects over the years.
