Salman Khan‘s Maatrubhumi remains one of the most anticipated movies of 2026. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film was initially slated to release in April 2026, but was postponed indefinitely due to reshoots and revisions to the script. While previous reports pointed to the film being released in the second half of 2026, a new report now suggests that the film could be delayed until 2027. This will leave Salman without a single film to release in 2026. However, fans can be compensated in 2027 with the potential release of two films: Maatrubhumi: Rest in Peace and SVC 63.

According to Bollywood Hungama, Maatrubhumi’s release was delayed because the Ministry of Defense raised concerns over certain content in the film, including references to China. These issues remain unresolved to this day.
