Head of State, starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas, John Cena and Idris Elba, was nominated for Best Television Movie at the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards.Nominees for this year’s Emmys were announced Wednesday at the Television Academy in Los Angeles by recent Emmy winners Lisa Colon-Zayas and Jeff Shearer. Action comedy “Heads of State” will compete in the best TV movie category against “Miss You, Love You,” “Very Smart Creatures,” “The People We Met on the Holidays” and “Jack Ryan: Ghost Wars.”

Among this year’s nominees, “Pete” became the most nominated drama film with 25 nominations, while “The Crackers” led the comedy category with 24 nominations, setting a new record for the most nominations for a comedy series in a single year.HBO Max leads all television networks and streaming platforms with 122 total nominations, and has three series nominated for both Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Comedy Series.Nominations also include several well-known names in television and entertainment. Rob Reiner received a posthumous nomination for his guest role in “The Bear,” while Bad Bunny received nine nominations for his Super Bowl halftime show special.Newcomer Taylor Swift Also received five nominations for The Eras Tour – The Final Show, including as a producer. Swift previously won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Interactive Program in 2015 and is a 14-time Grammy Award winner.

The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards will be held on September 14 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles and broadcast on NBC. The ceremony will be hosted by Mariska Hargitay, known for her long-running role on “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.”
