In an interview with Mid Day, the actress said that she feels Bollywood continues to judge women even after they reach a certain age. She said: “On the big screen, heroines always have a certain age. Once they pass this age, unlike the male protagonist who can continue to play the leading role in his 60s, women usually play the role of mother or aunt.”However, talking about the changing paradigm in cinema and storytelling, she further commented that the rise of OTT has changed the scenario significantly. She added, “On OTT, times have changed,” and further commented on how the concept of micro-series has become popular online and will only grow in the future. “I think mini-series will continue to exist because it’s very short, considering the mobile screen. And because everyone has a mobile phone, the penetration rate is much higher,” she also shared.

The actress also spoke about how women in movies are often portrayed as pornographic symbols multiple times. She added, “Even today, some songs and the way they are filmed still objectify women.” However, in the interview, she also said that the industry is slowly changing, adding, “Before, women were often seen as sex symbols. Now, they have more meaningful and richer roles.”On the work front, the actress was last seen on the big screen in 2021’s “Koi Jaane Na”. She also starred in the TV series Life Hill Gayi in 2024. Apart from being an actor, Govitlikar is also a practicing physician and psychologist and has worked as a model.
