Nafisa Ali was diagnosed with stage 3 peritoneal and ovarian cancer in 2018 and has gone into remission. However, the devastating disease made a comeback last year. Talking about how she experienced the pain and diagnosis, she said, “I knew my stomach pain was cancer, but the doctors couldn’t diagnose it, which led to stage four. I came back to Delhi two months later and I told my doctor, ‘I don’t agree with your diagnosis.’ There must be something wrong with me,” in a previous interview with Fit Tak.Ali broke down in front of doctors, saying she had been misdiagnosed. “I became very depressed. I actually cried in front of the doctor and said, ‘I’m the last person to go to the doctor, and if I come to the doctor multiple times, you have to take it seriously,'” she recalled of how professionals finally took note of her condition.
