Samantha Ruth Prabhu talks about film journey
Samantha recently shared a heartfelt message on Instagram. She wrote, “A friend of mine called an exhibitor at Center B. He didn’t know I was listening. My friend asked, ‘What do you think of Maa Inti Bangaram? What do you think it will cost at opening?’ The exhibitor didn’t hesitate. “Why would anyone watch a film with a heroine? It would be great if she appeared in a movie with a big hero. People know her for her charisma. But a film with a heroine in the lead? Who will come? No one.‘”Samantha added, “I think real change only happens when someone is willing to take a risk. Most of the time, those risks don’t pay off. Every once in a while, they do. And for us, this time it did pay off.”
ETimes comments on “MIB”
ETimes praised the film for offering a refreshing take on the commercial action genre. The review reads: “The film may not reinvent the action movie template, but it reshapes it around a female protagonist who makes her both vulnerable and powerful. In a genre so often driven by hubris, this feels like a refreshing choice.”
