Veteran actress and former beauty queen Kalpana Iyer opens up about one of the toughest phases of her career. She shared how changing times in the film industry forced her to make difficult decisions in order to continue working. In a recent Instagram post, she admitted that in order to survive in the industry, she had to accept limited opportunities and roles. Looking back on that period, she recounts the struggles, pressures and compromises she faced in her career.Today, the actress shared a series of throwback photos from her films on Instagram and said: “My journey in the television industry began when an amazing woman and a talented creative imagined me as a character that no one before her had imagined. … They took several days because my image was that of a dancer and a vamp, and all negative roles were my forte, but she saw something and I agreed to do my first TV series because she made me believe that I could and that I wanted to do it for myself and her, and I agreed to do it for CPC Delhi does KASHISH, directed by a very good director MS Meena Vaishnavi.”. (sic)Kalpana Iyer added, “This move will bring some amazing opportunities for me to grow over a long period of time and play some amazing and wonderful roles and characters in… Banegi Apni Baat, Dillagi, Junoon, Dard, Waqt Yule Love Stories, Chandrakanta, Kurukshetra, Farmaan, Margarita and many more.“My principles and values cannot be exchanged for anything, and I would never, and have not, sold my integrity for the sake of a job, so…I resigned and moved on.”She entered the entertainment industry as a model and gained recognition after winning a beauty pageant. She later became a familiar face in Hindi films in the late 1970s and 1980s, popular for her performances as a dancer and character artist.She has also appeared in several famous films including Disco Dancer, Satte Pe Satta, Anokha Rishta, Armaan, Humse Hai Zamana and Wardat, among others.
