Shweta Mohan shared several pictures of her meeting with S. Janaki in her Instagram post. There she was delighted to meet the legend. The post also included a video in which S. Janaki presented a gift to Shweta, who couldn’t control her excitement and touched her feet. Another picture shows them eating together, Shweta serving S. Janaki.In her caption, she talked about how much Janaki means to her as a singer and as a person. Shweta said Janaki’s music has always been a part of her journey and Janaki will always be her biggest source of inspiration.“My Queen Janakima is no more… I have lost a piece of my heart and a part of my musical soul (broken heart emoji) and I loved her dearly. She was there every day of my musical journey. Her songs and her voice have been ‘textbooks’ that I am still learning from,” she wrote.

She further added, “I think she is the best singer in the world. I repeat – the best singer in the world… There is nothing in her singing – power, range, emotion, style, breath control, perfection, versatility, originality of phrasing in every language – she is an unparalleled talent, born to sing and rule our hearts.”

Shweta Mohan said that she admires S. Janaki not only for her music but also for her as a person. She wrote: “Even in terms of personality, I deeply admired her – the way she treated everyone around her as a mother. She has always been genuine and pure, loving and mature, calm and strong, approachable and down-to-earth, yet effortlessly the absolute queen she is. She said Janaki’s loving nature and humble personality made everyone around her feel loved and respected. Shweta also remembers working closely with S. Janaki on S. Janaki — The Composer for the past two years. She wrote: “I have been extremely lucky to work closely with her on S for the past two years. Janaki — The Composer’, in which Amma asked me to sing four songs that she wrote and composed herself. I learned a lot in the process and developed a very deep affection for Amma. I thought I would never recover from this loss. After hearing the news of her passing today, it was very difficult to sing at the concert.
