On July 13, the band announced on their official Instagram page that Fincher would no longer be able to participate in their final tour. They confirmed she had recently been diagnosed with brain cancer and was now in need of extensive medical support.They wrote: “Our beloved bandmate, sister and friend Jennifer Finch has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer. After multiple surgeries and serious complications, Jennifer now requires extensive medical care, rehabilitation and professional family support. “The band also shared a link to a funding page set up by her friends and family to ensure she continues to receive the medical treatment and care she deserves. The statement further states that the funds will be used to “help cover these emergency costs so that she can remain safely in her home and receive the care, dignity and support she needs.” The band is currently on its final tour, titled “The Last Hurray,” which the band says was intentionally planned to ensure all four members could perform on stage and say farewell to fans together. They concluded their statement by saying that after quitting the tour, Fincher asked everyone to complete the tour without her. They added: “We will respect her request while making her care and welfare our top priority. We love her and we want her to feel the full strength of the community that has loved and supported her over the years. “On the funding page, the band and her family shared photos of the musician over the years, as well as photos of scars on her head, possibly from one of the many surgeries mentioned in their official statement.In the link, they detail what she’s been through and list everything she needs money to pay for, including “professional home care, physical and speech therapy, medical equipment and other basic care, paying for home care so Jennifer can stay safe and comfortable in her home, recouping large out-of-pocket medical bills and legal fees, and protecting Jennifer’s legacy by creating her artistic and creative work, which is scheduled to be released next year.”“The funding page goal has been set at $350,000, with a total of $209,000 received as of this writing.
