In a recent interview, the couple looked back at the early days of their relationship, revealing how a simple Twitter exchange in 2016 eventually blossomed into one of Hollywood’s most beloved relationships. The couple recounted their first conversation on the July 14 episode of Hey Jonas, in which Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas Hilariously read out their old messages Priyanka Nick sat holding hands, laughing, reminiscing. In the episode, Priyanka also shared a surprising request Nick made after they switched from Twitter DMs to text messages, where he asked her to prove that she was indeed herself by sending a timestamped photo.Their story began when Kevin Jonas asked Nick if he had watched the ABC drama “Quantico,” which ran from 2015 to 2018 and starred Priyanka Chopra. Although Nick admits he has never watched the show, seeing Priyanka on a billboard advertising the show piqued his interest and prompted him to reach out. Later, Joe Jonas read Nick’s first direct message to Priyanka aloud on Twitter.“Hi. I heard from some people that we should meet up. I have to agree with these people. Are you coming to LA soon?” read Nick’s first message to Priyanka. At the time, their mutual friend Graham Rogers had mentioned Nick to Priyanka. In response to his message, she suggested they continue the conversation outside of social media. “Hey… Graham told me a lot about you… let’s text. More private. My team has access to this.“The two then exchanged phone numbers and continued chatting via text messages. Recalling those early conversations, Kevin Jonas asked Nick to reveal the first message he sent to Priyanka’s number. Nick jokingly dodged the request, saying, “You can’t see that.” However, Priyanka revealed what happened next, explaining that Nick wanted to make sure he was actually texting her and not someone pretending to be an actor.“I’ll tell you what the first text message was. He wanted to confirm that it was really me. So he asked me for a picture of me looking at the camera at that moment, with a time stamp on it. I was like, “This guy is already disgusted with me.” But I’m also grateful,” Priyanka said.The couple also revealed that while they were first linked in 2016, they didn’t start dating until about a year and a half later. Their whirlwind romance progressed quickly, and Nick and Priyanka got engaged just two and a half months after they officially started dating in July 2018.
