He attributed the decline to ethanol-blend petrol, saying it used to have a driving range of about 800 kilometers on a full tank, but now it can only travel about 490 kilometers.After the video went viral, Mercedes-Benz India issued an official statement in response to the allegations. The company reiterated that all its BS VI petrol vehicles are certified for E20 fuel compatibility and comply with required regulatory standards.“At Mercedes-Benz, customer safety, vehicle reliability and performance are of paramount importance to us. All Mercedes-Benz BS VI petrol vehicles are materially compatible with E20 fuel and have corresponding certifications from relevant agencies. We are happy to provide any technical advisory support to our customers. Mercedes-Benz remains committed to sustainable mobility,” the company said in a statement.
