Sixteen years after the death of legendary Malayalam actor Cochin Haneefa, his family’s dream of owning a permanent home has finally come true. The actor, who has brought laughter to generations of Malayalam film lovers, had always wanted to build a house named after his father. That dream has now been realized by his family.According to AsiaNet News, the new residence located in Vennala, Kochi Prefecture has been named “Cochin Haneefa’s AB Manzil”. The name was in honor of his father, AB Muhammad, and Hanifa wanted his home to honor his memory.
A beautiful home built with the memories of actors
The newly built house sits on a compact plot but has been designed to maximize space and comfort. It consists of five bedrooms with elegant interiors. Although the building appears to be two stories from the outside, it offers the layout and amenities of a three-story home.The house was also designed as a tribute to the late actor. Its walls display several photos from Hanifa’s life and career. His awards and valuable memorabilia are also carefully preserved throughout the residence.
Kochi Hanifa’s difficult journey after death
Cochin Haneefa died in February 2010, leaving behind his wife Fasila and twin daughters Safa and Marva who were only four years old at the time.The couple became parents after 12 years of marriage. After the actor’s death, some suggested that Facila return to her hometown. However, she decided to stay in Kerala because she wanted to stay in the place that became her home through her husband.For the next 16 years, the family lived in a rented house in Kadavanthra while facing financial and legal challenges.
Legal relief helps this family build their own home
Reports claim that after Cochin Haneefa’s death, several of his assets were seized as a result of legal proceedings. The family waited several years for these problems to finally be resolved.Once Safa and Marwa turned 18, the legal hurdle ended and the family regained control of the actors’ property.
