However, Harry is reportedly determined to abide by these arrangements again after a recent visit to the UK for a series of Invincible Games events.

Prince Harry lobbies for safety to spend family time with King CharlesThe duke is reportedly preparing to lobby the home secretary to ensure security, with sources saying he is seeking to arrange further meetings with the king to allow him more time to spend with his grandchildren. The grandchildren have barely been to the UK since the Sussexes moved to the US in 2020. Earlier this month, Harry, Meghan and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, reunited as a family when they met the King and Queen Camilla at Highgrove Estate in west London.However, the reunion was overshadowed by reports that the king’s offer to stay at Buckingham Palace was “withdrawn at the last minute”. Buckingham Palace said it would no longer provide appropriate hospitality and staffing. But the decision reportedly meant Meghan and the couple’s children had to cancel plans to attend the visit and could only come after flying in from Europe.

Prince Harry believes children can’t feel safe without protectionThe duke has previously argued that his children would not “feel at home” in the UK if “their safety could not be kept” and that he had been “singled out” for “less favorable treatment” and his safety, security and life were “at risk”. His legal arguments centered on the welfare of his family and his desire to provide them with a safe environment during his visit to the UK.But the Home Office, which is legally responsible for the committee’s decision, opposed Harry’s appeal. His lawyers told the court the decision was taken in “unique circumstances” and there was “no appropriate basis” to challenge it. He currently makes his own security arrangements when visiting the UK, which reportedly puts considerable financial and logistical pressure on his ability to travel.Prince Harry will return to the UK for the Invincible Games in Birmingham next year and is said to want his family to accompany him to the games.
