Celebrity photographer, film producer Artur Kasbekar is mourning the loss of his father Arun Bhaskar Kasbekar, who passed away at the age of 88. The veteran photographer shared a touching post on Instagram to announce that his father passed away peacefully at home on July 14 in the presence of his family.
Atul Kasbekar recalls his father’s final moments
Along with a set of throwback photos, Atul also looked back on his father’s final moments and paid tribute to his life. “My dad passed away yesterday at around 3pm. He passed away quietly in his bed, with my mom holding one hand and mine with the other. No sound. No rapid breathing. No struggle. He just slipped away. He had just turned 88. You have to be extra lucky to be able to ease into the next journey without seeming to be in any pain or suffering. Dad leaves behind my mom, four children and eight grandchildren. He always had a quick joke, a sharp wit, and a keen mathematical mind at the ready. Atul wrote that he was very proud of his Qawwali roots, language, cuisine and people. Kasbekar further added, “Completely self-made, his generosity far exceeded his capabilities and he quietly helped countless people over the years. Industry condolences on death of Atul Kasbekar
Soon after Atul shared the post, several people from the film and entertainment industry started sending condolence messages.
