In a candid chat, the actress, who was recently seen in the star-studded comedy Dharmaal 4 alongside Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh, recalled how a schedule delay on her first day of shooting prompted Ranveer to take personal responsibility and sincerely apologize.
Karan Johar’s sweet gesture on set
In an interview with India Today, Anjali recalled the moment that she still cherishes. Sharing the memory, she said, “One memory of Rocky Orani Prem Kahani that I will always cherish is when we were shooting my breakthrough scene. Karan (Johar) sir loved the scene so much that he came up to me and kissed me on my forehead. I will never forget it.” The actor also spoke about the special rapport she developed with the legendary actor. Dharmendra During the shoot, he described those moments as priceless. “Another special memory is the time spent on the sets with Dharamji. I would sit with him for hours and he would recite his poetry and shayari to me. Those moments are priceless,” she said.
Ranveer Singh made her feel comfortable on the sets
Anjali further praised Ranveer, saying he was an encouraging and thoughtful co-star who made her feel at ease throughout the shoot. “Working with Ranveer was incredible. Every scene with him was so much fun because he was such a driven and generous co-star. I remember on the first day of shooting, we couldn’t complete my scene. I had posted on Instagram that I couldn’t wait for day one on such a big film. Ranveer saw it and came up to me and said, ‘I’m so sorry.’’ I told him, ‘Ranveer, only you know that my scene didn’t happen. Everyone else thinks I shot today,” she added.The actor added that what impressed her the most was how Ranveer took responsibility for circumstances beyond his control. “What touched me the most was his sensitivity. He sincerely apologized for not being able to shoot my scene because of my late schedule. The next day he made sure he was present for my shoot. He even went and listened to the team’s feedback after my scene and came back to encourage me. It means a lot,” she said.She shared that their friendship continued even after the film was completed. “We’ve kept in touch over the years. We’ve seen each other at friends’ weddings and other social gatherings, and he’s always so adorable. I’ve seen Durandal — I loved it. That hair flip is awesome. He’s absolutely killing it and I’m so happy for him. He deserves all this success and more. I love him,” Anjali concluded.
