While The Big Bang Theory may be famed actor Jim Parsons’ most popular and beloved role, the star doesn’t seem to have fond memories of the show. In one of his recent interviews, Parsons opened up about his time on the show and the impact his rising popularity has had on him. Not only that, but he also mentioned how “painful” the show made him.

Parsons recently opened up about the negative impact of The Big Bang Theory and the impact its popularity has had on him. While talking about the show “All Out with Jon Dean,” he shared that he was very unhappy while working on the show. He added, “I look back now and realize that during some of the best moments of my life, I was miserable in so many ways,” he shared. “I’m not happy. I’m stressed.”Parsons also admitted that despite all the love, popularity and accolades the show has brought him, “I would never do it again, no matter how much money it was. … It was stressful and painful at times. I made myself miserable.”“I feel like there are so many things that I should be keeping in the air, and success and good things happening in life just because of this overwork…discipline and all that. Maybe that’s true in a way. I don’t know. I can’t say because that’s just who I am,” he also shared.Parsons further added that there were many factors at play in his deteriorating health at the time, including his work ethic and obsession with certain things, which caused him to miss many moments in his life. Talking about his “obsession,” the actor mentioned, “I basically have a list of things in my head that I have to accomplish to feel comfortable and know that I can do my job, but I don’t think that’s true.”

The actor further concluded his note, revealing that while this was one of the toughest times of his life, he is working on working through his issues and building a better relationship with it all. He added, “It’s evolving and it’s getting better all the time. I feel better, I feel healthier. I don’t think it’s probably anyone’s business, but looking back, I certainly wasn’t capable of it.”Jim Parsons played Sheldon Cooper on “The Big Bang Theory” from 2007 to 2019, winning a Golden Globe and multiple Emmy Awards for the role. He also reprized his role as a voice-over artist on the TV series Young Sheldon, a spin-off that explored his childhood.
