His message was warm, affectionate and full of love. One line in it struck me. He called me his favorite person. He blessed me, my wife, and expressed his love and best wishes to me. This message means more than words can express,” he said, before adding, “I have experienced countless unforgettable moments in my career.

“Why not tell love stories? Cinema has always proven that some of the greatest love stories are created by filmmakers who have experienced life deeply. K. Balachander gave us the unforgettable ‘Ek Duuje Ke Liye’. Yash Chopra created timeless love stories like ‘Chandni’. South Indian cinema has also produced timeless love stories, with the depth of reflection by directors.”“The idea stayed with me. I started writing. Slowly, I found myself falling in love with the story I was creating. When the basic idea was ready, I narrated it to producer Prerna Arora. She immediately agreed and said, ‘I am making this film,'” shares the filmmaker.

Elaborating further on the process, Suresh Krishna said, “I continued working until the script was completed. When Prerna heard the completed script, her reaction gave me huge confidence. She felt it was a beautiful script but needed a great actress, someone who could carry the emotional weight of the central character with grace, beauty and conviction. When I started thinking of possible names, one face kept coming to my mind, Mouni Roy. There’s something about her that’s perfect for this role. “Suresh and his producer Prrna Arora are on the same page.He told us, “Interestingly, Prerna independently came up with the same name without any discussion. We all instinctively thought that Mouni Roy would be the ideal choice. She is charming, elegant, and a talented performer. Prerna arranged the narration. I narrated the script to Muni. When I finished, her first question was, “When do we start?” That was all I needed to hear. With the addition of Mouni Roy, the film acquires a whole new dimension.The rest of the casting is underway and a few notable names are being discussed to complete the ensemble.“Besides love, my film will have strong relevance in today’s world,” Suresh Krishna promises.

Many years ago, I directed ‘Love’ with Salman Khan. Today, inspired by his unexpected message, I find myself returning to Hindi cinema with another love story. Somewhere in my heart, I hope that when he is done, when Salman is done with Hindi cinema.
