Meghan Markle gave fans a window into her family’s European travels with an Instagram carousel she posted on Thursday, July 23, showcasing their “summer vacation” moments in Portugal and the United Kingdom.The Duchess of Sussex, 44, shared a photo of Prince Harry, 41, and their children Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, as they traveled across the African continent. The series captures tender family moments and poignant visits to Althorp, Princess Diana’s childhood home and final resting place.
A fun-filled family vacation
Carousel opens with carefree scenes of the family spending time in Portugal’s Alentejo region, where the Sussexes are holidaying before heading to England. Beach outings and poolside moments are sprinkled throughout, including a particularly hilarious shot of Harry tossing Lilibet into the air, capturing her mid-flight before splashing into the water. Another snap showed Archie in the cockpit of the plane, his captain’s hat on his head, walking towards the console with the pilot. In the photo, the couple was seen chatting and laughing while eating together.

Milestone meeting at Highgrove Palace
Earlier this month, the family traveled to Highgrove Palace, the monarch’s private country home in Gloucestershire, to reunite with King Charles and Queen Camilla, People reported. The visit is the third meeting between Harry and his father since the king was diagnosed with cancer in 2024, and the first time the Queen has seen his grandchildren in more than four years. The reunion comes after weeks of uncertainty over security arrangements and accommodation, with the back-and-forth delaying confirmation of Meghan and her children’s involvement.

Return to Princess Diana’s resting place
A photo from the carousel captures a particularly momentous moment: the family standing in Althorp’s grounds, Harry and Archie holding bouquets of flowers. The trio are pictured from behind paying their respects at the gravesite of Princess Diana, who is laid to rest on an island within the Ornamental Lake ‘The Round Oval’ in Althorp Park Pleasure Gardens.In his 2023 memoir, “Backup,” Harry recalled taking Meghan to visit his mother’s gravesite for the first time in 2022. “We hesitated, hugged, and then I went first. I placed flowers on the grave. Meghan gave me a moment and I spoke to my mother in my head, telling her I missed her and asking for guidance and clarification,” he wrote.He continued: “I thought Meg might need a moment too, so I walked around the hedge and scanned the pond. When I came back, Meg was kneeling with her eyes closed and her palms on the stone.”After leaving the tomb, Harry asked Meghan what she had prayed for. “Clarity, she said. And guidance,” the Duke recalled.
