It feels like a college cafeteria. “As someone who understands filmmaking from both the creative and business sides, Tushar says the scale of a production often leaves him calculating costs in his head. While he admired Ahmed Khan’s ambition, the rows of trucks and the massive workforce made him doubt the practicality of such an investment.“When I got to the set, it took five minutes to get to our dressing van because we had to go through this long line of vans. I used to just look at these vans and wonder what the cost of so many vans and a crew of each person was every day. Is it really worth bringing so many actors? I used to wonder, while Ahmed had the vision, was it really reasonable that he was bringing in a new cast and a genre that had never been tried before in India? It was a year after filming “Welcome”. When filming resumed, it never occurred to him to shoot with only live actors.
