Priyanka opens up about landing the role on Nick Jonas’ podcast
During an appearance on the Jonas Brothers podcast, Priyanka said she has been a part of Varanasi for nearly 14 months. She recalled how the project came to fruition and revealed that filmmaker SS Rajamouli reached out to her directly and offered her the role. As she said, “He called me to come and watch the movie, which is an epic adventure across the world. It took a minute, but I was so excited about it.”She also hinted at her character, mentioning that fans can expect to see her in a lot of slow-motion footage. In her words, “I did a lot of amazing slow-motion jumps in it, that’s all I can say.”
What is “Varanasi” about?
Varanasi takes place after the asteroid Shambhavi hits the Earth, leaving behind a world ravaged by environmental and ecological disasters. At the heart of the story is Rudra, a devoted follower of Lord Shiva and a divine warrior, who travels across different continents and time periods in search of lost cosmic artifacts. During his quest, he stumbles upon the elaborate conspiracy of Kumba, a powerful and ruthless figure bent on world domination. Priyanka’s Mandakini reportedly played a key role in guiding Rudra through the mythological timeline and helping him piece together the secrets of the past.
