Mamta Kulkarni has reacted to Mahira Sharma’s cover of ‘Ranaji 2.0’, saying the original song is “engraved in people’s minds”. She recalled the grueling rehearsals in the 1990s and praised Rakesh Roshan’s work in the film. Kulkarni also revealed that she is open to acting jobs, but only in scripts that are in line with her spiritual growth.

The point is, you see a song that was originally made with ghagra choli and Indian dance moves and now it is made in a western format and western costumes. So, it is already eye-catching. But the earlier song has been etched in people’s minds, so it comes to mind instantly.

Mamta Kulkarni recalls the rigorous rehearsals of the original show

Talking about the preparation of the original show, Kulkarni recalled the arduous process behind the show in the 1990s. “Chinni Prakash masterji was the choreographer of ‘Mujhko Ranaji’. The rehearsal was scheduled for two to three days. But I took the right steps on the first day. When I reached the sets, the steps changed. I asked him why he changed the steps. I wondered what was the purpose of the rehearsal, but Chinni Prakash masterji was very good and we completed the song on time.

Looking back at the musical legacy of ‘Karan Arjun’, Kulkarni praised director Rakesh for successfully bringing such an ambitious project to reality. “The song ‘Jai Maa Kaali’ was difficult to shoot as there were so many dancers in it. I thank Rakeshji for completing such a complex film with so many artistes. ‘Karan Arjun’ became a super hit. Be it ‘Jai Maa Kaali’, ‘Bhangda Paa Le’ or ‘Ek Munda Meri Umr Da’, people loved all the songs.

Talking about her journey in Bollywood, the actress, who has not been seen on screen in a long time, shared, “I keep getting offers to act.
