Jennifer Stone was a familiar face to an entire generation as Harper Finkle, the best friend of Selena Gomez’s Alex Russo on “Wizards of Waverly Place,” but she gradually retired from acting after the show ended in 2012. A diagnosis of Type 1 diabetes prompted her to pursue a nursing degree, and she told People in 2024, “I was like, OK, let me switch from a psychology major to majoring in something so I can better understand myself and my condition and be able to help people.” She is now a registered nurse and co-hosted “DeLuise” with former costar David DeLuise in 2024.
