The Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE) is expected to declare the Class 10 (SSLC), Class 11 and Class 12 (HSC) supplementary examination results on the official website tnresults.nic.in. The results are likely to be released in the last week of July, after which students will be able to download the provisional merit list from the official portal. Re-sit exams are an important opportunity for students who have failed in one or more subjects in the annual board exams. DGE has announced the supplementary examination results for self-study candidates on July 22, 2026. Once announced, students can check their results from the Tamil Nadu official result website and DGE website. Apart from the website, provisional results will be made available through DigiLocker and SMS facilities so that students have multiple ways to check their results.Students must keep their registration number and date of birth with them to avoid any delay in checking their results after activating the result link.Students who fail one or more subject exams take supplementary exams every year. Supplementary examinations provide candidates with the opportunity to perform better in the future.This year, the Level 12 supplementary examination will be held from June 29 to July 7, 2026. On the other hand, the Class 10 exam will be held from July 8 to July 15 and the Class 11 supplementary exam will be held from July 8 to July 16.

Passing Criteria Students Should Know
In order to pass the make-up exam, students must score at least 35 points out of 100 in each subject.For subjects with practical examinations, candidates must obtain at least 15 marks in the theory examination and an overall passing mark set by the board.DGE expects to distribute original physics transcripts through schools starting July 30, 2026. Candidates who clear the supplementary examination will be eligible for further admission process which includes supplementary counseling course for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA).
