The Olympic medalist is pleased with her progress but believes she can do better.“Another bronze medal. I have mixed feelings about this. I’m glad I was able to improve my performance, but at the same time, I know I can do better,” Buck wrote on X .She added, “What makes me happy is seeing the hard work show up. There’s a lot of room for improvement, and that’s what keeps me motivated. One step at a time.”Barker also thanked those who have supported her, saying: “A huge thank you to my team, my family and each and every one of you for your unwavering love and support, it means the world to me.”
India shines in women’s 25m pistol event
Team India had an unforgettable experience at the event Esha Singh won the gold medal, while Barker took home the bronze medal, completing two podium finishes. Esha dominated the finals with 40 hits, while Bhaker survived the crucial tiebreaker to finish third with 28 hits.The pair had already performed well in the qualifying rounds, with Bhaker in first place with a record of 586 wins and 20 losses, and Esha in second place with a record of 585 wins and 18 losses, comfortably advancing to the finals. Rakhi SanobatSimranpreet Kaur Brar and Abhidnya Ashok Patil also performed well.The gold medal marks another important milestone for 21-year-old Esha Singh. Earlier this season, she set the senior and junior world records with 43 hits in the ISSF World Cup finals in Munich. Meanwhile, Barker’s bronze medal further underlined her consistency after becoming the first independent Indian athlete to win two medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
