As per these preliminary estimates, the film is now expected to surpass the previous record of Rs 90 crore grossed by Avengers: Endgame in its opening weekend in 2019.Several industry analysts have also predicted that the film may become the first Hollywood film in India to cross the Rs 100-crore milestone in total pre-sale revenue before the end of its opening weekend.In terms of box office, “Avengers: Endgame” holds the record for the highest first-day box office for a Hollywood movie in India, with about 1.025 million tickets sold. This was followed by “Spider-Man: No Way Home” and “Avengers: Infinity War”, which sold approximately 550,000 tickets and 486,000 tickets respectively.Advance bookings across theater chains remain strong, with premium formats such as IMAX and 4DX already available in major metropolitan cities. The overall attendance rate on the film’s premiere day was also close to 39%. Record-breaking pre-sales also put “Spider-Man: A New Day” on track to become the highest-grossing Hollywood film of all time in India.In addition to the Indian box office, “Spider-Man: New Day” is also expected to become one of the highest-grossing global debuts in film history. The film has set the highest box office debut for a Chinese film since “Avengers: Endgame,” with a box office revenue of US$35 million.
