According to the Indian Express, Aarti has applied to the court for temporary alimony of Rs 40 lakh per month until the case is heard. The court heard arguments from both parties and rejected their pleas. It set an interim alimony of Rs 3 lakh per month, which Ravi Mohan has to pay until the case is adjudicated. The order is a major step forward in one of the highest-profile celebrity divorce cases in the Tamil film industry.
Ravi Mohan allowed unrestricted access to son
Apart from the financial aspect, the court also addressed the issue of the couple’s two sons, Aarav and Ayaan. The Family Welfare Court said the children should not be restricted from seeing their father. A few months ago, Ravi Mohan publicly claimed that he was not allowed to spend time with his sons. He claimed Aarti did not allow him to meet the children, sent them to school accompanied by security guards and did not even notify him when they were involved in a car accident. Ravi earlier said he had heard about the accident from others and was deeply hurt by not being able to see his children despite his worries.
Long-running legal battle continues as next phase begins
Ravi Mohan and Aarti got married in June 2009 and their relationship broke down after nearly 15 years together. In September 2024, the actor announced that he was filing for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. Aarti later said he took the decision without her knowledge. The case has since remained in the public spotlight and made headlines over disputes over alimony, custody and personal allegations. The court’s latest interim order temporarily fixes the alimony amount and paves the way for Ravi Mohan to meet his sons. But the larger divorce case remains to be decided after the trial.
