Royal historian agrees with Prince William’s warning
A royal historian marked the site where active members’ castles fell. In an interview with The Mirror, Marlene Koenig agreed with Prince William’s wise advice about exchanging forever vows. “William was right to advise Harry to take his time and not rush into marriage. The family learned valuable lessons from failed marriages (Charles and Diana and Andrew and Sarah). Neither couple knew each other well before getting married. There was no real courtship,” she said. “Edward and Sophie and William and Catherine lived together before they got married. That time gave the women an idea of what life would be like as members of the royal family. Meghan didn’t have that time – maybe if they had lived together for a few years, Meghan would have had more time to observe,” she explained. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle gave up their active membership titles and lives in the UK in 2020. The couple has been living in the United States with their two children, Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie.
