On the 8th day of its release, the film only collected Rs 685 crore at the box office, but its weekend box office revenue soared by 61.3%. This takes the total box office collection of “Odyssey” in India to Rs 1,291.5 crore, taking the total net revenue to date to Rs 10,820 crore.The sharp rise at the box office suggests the film is expected to do well at the box office on Sunday as well. “The Odyssey” tops box office in English
The Matt Damon and Tom Holland film has been released in Indian cinemas in four languages: English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. On Day 9, of the total revenue of Rs 1,105 crore, an estimated Rs 975 crore came from English shows, which had more than 2,700 shows with an occupancy of 80.0%. Hindi follows closely with a prize of Rs 1 Crore. However, the figures for Tamil and Telugu dropped significantly to Rs 10 lakh and Rs 20 lakh respectively.

The plot of “The Odyssey” is different from Homer’s “Odyssey”
The film revolves around Homer’s epic poem about King Ithaca, how he won the Trojan War, and his journey back to his wife Penelope and son Telemachus. Christopher Nolan made this story his own by changing certain aspects of the story. One of the main focuses of the poem is Odysseus’ arrogance and his overconfidence in his cunning and skill. However, in Nolan’s film he realizes the gravity of the situation and the importance of his decisions, which resulted in the death of many innocent people, and throughout the film he suffers from the guilt of participating in the war. In keeping with this theme, the ending of the movie was also changed and quite different. In this poem, the story ends with Odysseus killing all of Penelope’s suitors and retaking Ithaca, ruling the city with his family by his side for 20 years.
