After the Q&A session, the team took selfies with the audience and the photos are now going viral on social media.The group was moderated by Coy Jandreau, who later shared the selfies with the team on social media. Expressing his excitement for the experience, Jandreau wrote, “It was an honor to host the #Ramayana panel with these legends yesterday at Ballroom 20 at #SDCC! #Yash, #RanbirKapoor, Namit Malhotra and Nitesh Tiwari were as incredible as I thought they would be (and want to be nice).” The trailer is stunning and can’t wait for everyone to see it.Hours before the Comic-Con appearance, producer Namit Malhotra announced a major international distribution partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment, which will handle global distribution of the film outside of India. Speaking about the collaboration, Malhotra said in a statement: “Our goal has always been to honor this tradition while creating cinematic experiences worthy of audiences around the world.” He added: “Partnering with Sony Pictures provides Ramayana with a fantastic opportunity to connect with international audiences and introduce this timeless story to moviegoers around the world.”According to industry reports, in cooperation with Sony, the distributor will invest heavily in the global promotion of the film. Reports suggest that the company has committed around $25 million (approximately Rs. 235 crore) for marketing of the film, while the producers are expected to contribute another $15 million (approximately Rs. 140 crore). The total marketing expenditure is estimated at USD 40 million (approximately Rs. 375 crore).Including production and distribution costs, the budget of “Ramayana: Part One” is reportedly Rs 1,400-1,500 crore. The second part is expected to incur similar costs, making it one of the most expensive film projects in Indian cinema.The producer said in an Instagram post that the collaboration marks a major milestone in storytelling in India. “This is special because it opens doors for people from around the world to discover our rich culture and our stories with a new sense of pride and enthusiasm.”Ramayana: Part 1 is currently scheduled to release on Diwali 2026. The film’s official release date is still awaited. Meanwhile, there are reports that the film is scheduled to be released on November 8.
