State Bank of India (SBI) offers internship opportunities to students through its SBI Summer Internship Program 2026. Internships provide students with practical exposure to the banking and financial services industry and help them gain hands-on industry experience.Unlike some internship programs, SBI does not conduct a single national recruitment process each year through a common application portal. Instead, internship opportunities are offered through selected SBI offices, learning centres, business verticals and campus partners. The selection process may vary by region and educational institution.
Who can apply?
Students pursuing full-time courses in colleges approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) or All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) are eligible to apply, provided their course requires them to complete an internship with an external organization.Students can be selected through campus recruitment or seek internship opportunities directly from SBI. The bank reserves the right to accept or reject any application without giving reasons.

- Letter from the educational institution confirming that the internship is part of the course
- Know Your Customer (KYC) documents
Selection process
The selection process includes a personal interview. Candidates may also be required to participate in group discussions if required.In SBI circles, the Learning and Development (L&D) department is responsible for conducting the selection process. For Corporate Centers and Corporate Center institutions, applications are processed by the respective Human Resources (HR) or administrative departments.

Students interested in applying should contact the Learning and Development (L&D) Department of the SBI Circle Local Head Office (LHO) to which they wish to apply.If the application is submitted at any other SBI office or branch within the circle, the application will be forwarded to the L&D department for consideration.For internships at a Corporate Center or Corporate Center institution, applications may be submitted directly to the relevant Human Resources or Administration department.
Bursaries
SBI provides stipend only to interns selected under the stipend category. This amount is paid upon successful completion of the internship project and submission of the project report.The bank has clarified that interns must bear all other costs including accommodation, travel and any additional expenses incurred during the internship.
Will interns get job offers?
Can’t. SBI does not offer internship opportunities after completion of internship.
