Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s name entered the history books after he scored 50 against Zimbabwe in the 1st T20I in Harare. Teenage star Vaibhav Sooryavanshi got off to a rocky start in his international career during India’s T20I series against England in July 2026. The 15-year-old arrived with huge expectations after a record-breaking IPL season, scoring scores of 14, 13 and 15 in the first three T20I innings. On his debut at Old Trafford, he scored 14 off 10 balls, including two sixes, but was stumped by Will Jacks. He then had a brisk five-ball 13 at Trent Bridge where India’s batting failed, and then 15 off 10 at Bristol.Chasing a modest target of 126 runs, Sooryavanshi played a clinical but aggressive innings to score his first international half-century. In the process, he became the youngest player in history to score 50 runs in T20I cricket, surpassing Gibraltar’s record of 16 years and 56 days.
