Kia India has launched the Syros EV with prices starting at Rs 13.49 lakh, ex-showroom. The Syros EV will be available at Kia dealerships in India from July 30.The Syros EV has two battery pack options. The entry-level 42 kWh variant is priced at Rs 13.49 lakh, while the larger 51.4 kWh Extended Range variant is priced from Rs 16.99 lakh, both ex-showroom. There are seven models in the product line, with the top-spec X-Line ER priced at Rs 19.99 lakh.It can be equipped with a 42 kWh battery, with an ARAI-certified range of 443 kilometers, or a larger 51.4 kWh battery, with a claimed range of 526 kilometers. Power comes from a front-mounted electric motor that produces 171 hp, while the larger battery model can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.1 seconds. Kia also claims that DC fast charging takes 39 minutes to recharge 10-80% of the battery using a 100 kW charger. The SUV also features a 10.8 kW on-board AC charger, battery conditioning and EV-specific features such as regenerative braking with i-Pedal mode, vehicle-to-load (V2L) and battery heating system. One of the highlights of the Syros EV is its ownership package. Kia offers a 15-year lifetime high-voltage battery warranty with unlimited kilometres, as well as a guaranteed buy-back scheme promising up to 80 per cent resale value after three years subject to introductory terms. The company has also launched a battery-as-a-service (BaaS) plan that allows customers to purchase vehicles for Rs 7.99 lakh with battery charges starting from Rs 3.3 per km. Additionally, the My Convenience e-Plus package also comes with a combination of maintenance, extended warranty and roadside assistance.The interior of the Syros EV features a 30-inch Trinity panoramic display, combined with a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, a 12.3-inch touch screen infotainment system and a 5-inch climate control display. Other highlights include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Kia Connect 2.0 with over 95 connectivity features, OTA updates, Harman Kardon eight-speaker audio system, ventilated front and rear seats, panoramic sunroof, 4-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, ambient lighting, smart dash cam and 16-litre front luggage compartment. On the safety front, it comes with Level 2 ADAS with 16 autonomous functions, along with six airbags, ESC, hill start assist, 360-degree camera, blind vision monitor and a total of 25 standard safety features.
