New Delhi: Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh has issued a heartfelt message on the protests over the alleged leak of NEET question papers, urging dialogue among all stakeholders to ensure that children and students can study in a safe and peaceful environment.The 2011 World Cup hero avoided political comments on Instagram and instead focused on the welfare of students, stressing that every child should have the opportunity to pursue education and dreams without fear.“To every child, student, woman and man: you deserve the opportunity to learn in peace, grow in safety and chase your dreams. Your well-being is the foundation of a brighter India,” Yuvraj wrote.He concluded his speech with a call for unity and constructive engagement.“Let us come together to build communities of care, opportunity and hope. Through dialogue, we can find amicable solutions for India’s future.”Yuvraj’s comments come as protests intensify across the country related to the alleged leak of NEET documents, an issue that continues to dominate political and public discussion.
Parliamentary gridlock and legal scrutiny continue
The controversy escalated after the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) organized a “Sansad Chalo” protest in New Delhi on July 20, in which demonstrators were met with police action.Opposition leaders claim protesters were violently attacked and tear-gassed, accusations that have further fueled political confrontation over the issue.The deadlock has also roiled parliament, with both the House of Commons and the House of Federation adjourned multiple times. Opposition parties continue to demand the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and seek to discuss the alleged NEET-UG paper leak under specific parliamentary rules.The government insists it is ready to debate the issue but opposes conditions imposed by the opposition.Meanwhile, Delhi Police has registered 10 FIRs related to the protests.The Delhi High Court also intervened in the matter and issued notices to the Center and Delhi Police in three public interest litigations alleging excessive use of force during the demonstrations. The court has directed the authorities to preserve CCTV footage and other electronic records related to the incident.
Manu Bhaker also expressed concern
Yuvraj is not the first prominent Indian athlete to speak out on the issue.Earlier, two-time Olympic medalist Manu Bakker expressed concern over the plight of students, saying every child deserves education, safety and equal opportunities.“This is about the future of our country’s lives at this moment. This is about us,” Buck wrote on social media.Calling the issue bigger than politics, she added that every child deserves “access to education, safety and a fair chance in life” while stressing that these rights should never be viewed as privileges.Buck also said it was heartbreaking to see students suffer and urged greater accountability to protect their futures.
