We have a priest named Jaspreet who inspects every property before we open them.” Madaan later recalled her visit to Bastian’s Dadar store when it first opened, and said she immediately sensed the brand would be a huge success.“When I first went to Bastian’s in Dadar, and I looked at the way Bastian’s ‘B’ started, I told my daughters that this was going to be a big brand. I also told them that they would eventually sell their shares after giving it a huge valuation. I knew they wouldn’t hold on to it forever.” Raj admits he was surprised by her prediction. “It’s amazing. It’s terrifying.” Madaan went on to reveal another prediction of her business model, saying the couple would continue to reinvest earnings rather than profit for themselves.“I also said they would make a lot of money but not save any money. They would continue to take money from one place and invest it somewhere else. They would not take a penny home. None of them would take a salary or dividends. Everything would go back to the business.” Responding to her remarks, Raj confirmed that the company has largely followed that path.“Wow, that’s good. The growth has been tremendous. Seriously, without investing a penny after the first store, it became so successful that we kept opening store after store. Today, there are about nine Bastians in the country. It all starts with the first one. Madaan also predicted that as the brand continues to expand, Bastian will eventually establish a presence in second-tier cities.The restaurant chain had earlier grabbed headlines after Shobhaa De spoke about its staggering earnings on Mojo Story. “The money in Mumbai is amazing. A restaurant can do Rs 2-3 crore every night. On off-season nights, it’s Rs 2 crore and on weekends it’s Rs 3 crore. I walked into that restaurant myself because when I first heard those numbers, I thought they couldn’t be true.“She later identified the restaurant as Bastian’s. “This is Bastian. The new Bastian. It’s over 21,000 square feet. It doesn’t even feel real. You walk in and wonder where you are. You have a 360-degree view of the city. People arrived in Lamborghinis and Aston Martins. You name it. “However, Shilpa Shetty refuted the viral claims while appearing on Curly Tales, saying the reported numbers were far from reality. “I hope this is true.
