Christopher NolanThe Odyssey continues to maintain its undisputed lead at the Indian box office. The epic fantasy adventure film starring Matt Damon in the lead had a good run at the box office on Tuesday as it crossed the Rs 90-crore milestone in India with a slight increase.

After a roaring opening weekend and a drop in expectations on Monday, Odyssey bounced back with a slight gain in earnings on Tuesday, pointing to good weekday momentum.According to preliminary estimates by Sacnilk, Odyssey has netted an estimated Rs 835 crore from 8,520 shows on Day 5. According to reports, the film’s box office collection increased by 4.4% from Monday’s estimated net collection of Rs 8 crore. With this, the film’s total net revenue in India has climbed to Rs 776.5 crore, while its total India revenue is estimated at Rs 926.3 crore.

Odyssey Opening Weekend Series

The film opened with a box office of Rs 1,740 crore on Friday, soared to Rs 22 crore on Saturday, and fell slightly on Sunday, with a net box office of Rs 2,190 crore. The film grossed Rs 613 million and was one of the strongest opening weekend box office performances for a Christopher Nolan film in India.

English version of Odyssey continues to dominate

The English original remains the biggest contributor to the film’s collection since its release on Friday. On Tuesday alone, the English version earned around Rs 650 crore and also recorded the highest occupancy rate of 63% among all language versions. The English version of the film has collected an estimated Rs 72.68 million at the box office so far, while the Hindi, Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions continue to contribute steadily to the total box office.

‘The Odyssey’ becomes India’s highest-grossing IMAX film

“Odyssey” also rewrote the IMAX screening record in India. The film collected around Rs 1,533 crore from just 34 IMAX screens in the first three days of its theatrical release. According to sacnilk, the film’s opening weekend box office of Rs 6,140 crore, of which nearly 25% came from these 34 premium format screens, and the remaining 75% came from about 2,700 standard screens across the country.At this point, the film broke the long-standing record held by Tom Cruise’s “Mission: Impossible: Final Reckoning” and made “Odyssey” the highest-grossing IMAX premiere in India’s history.

‘Odyssey’ targets box office of Rs 150 crore

Early trade reports suggest the film is set for another strong weekend. Advanced screening appointments for Saturday and Sunday in several cities are reportedly filling up quickly. Given its solid box office performance, the film is currently expected to cross the Rs 150-crore mark in India.
