A viral post claimed, “Amid the ongoing student movement at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, Naseeruddin Shah arrived with his sons Imad Shah and Viwan Shah. Without making any public statement, he just quietly leaned against a pillar and observed the protest. He also looked solemnly at the students who were dispersed after police action.”Another post said, “Naseeruddin Shah attended the student protest at Jantar Mantar along with his sons Imaad and Vivaan. He didn’t say anything. He just stood, watched, and stayed. Sometimes, silence speaks louder than anything.”The video quickly attracted attention online, with many commenting on the actors who took part in the demonstration.
Naseeruddin Shah’s film is from Mumbai, not Delhi
However, the actor’s film was not shot in Delhi but outside the Regal Cinema in Colaba, Mumbai. The video, originally shared on Instagram by a user named Rajesh Gaur, shows Naseeruddin Shah standing on a street corner with his sons. The video shows the man panning the camera to share the visuals outside the cinema. He even turned the camera around to show the actor attending a screening of the movie “Raja Shivaji” and the romantic comedy “Pati Patni Aur Woh Do” starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Wamika Gabi, Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet Singh in a theater.However, in the video that has gone viral, the video appears to have been edited to exclude some clips that suggested the actor was spotted in a theater and not at Jantar Mantar.The original video was released on July 15The timing of the video’s release further contradicts claims of virality. The video was posted online on July 15 and re-posted on July 20. However, the video did not go viral until Monday on the pretext that the actor was participating in the protests.
