Maddox Chivan Jolie and Zahara Marley Jolie’s name change pendingTwo of Jolie and Pitt’s adult children have filed petitions to legally change their last names, according to court documents obtained by People magazine. Maddox requested that his legal name be changed from Maddox Chivan Jolie-Pitt to Maddox Chivan Jolie. Zahara is looking for the name Zahara Marley Jolie. A hearing to consider Maddox’s petition is scheduled for September 14, while Zahara’s petition will be considered on September 28.

Both companies have completed the necessary steps to publish notices of their proposed changes in the Los Angeles Daily News. Maddox’s published evidence was recorded on July 7, and Zahara’s follow-up was recorded on July 9. Neither adult child described the petition that way or publicly explained the personal reasons behind the requests.Before filing the legal petition, both children publicly used the versions of their names they requested. Maddox is known as Maddox Jolie after serving as an assistant director on her mother’s film “Couture.” Zahara was introduced as Zahara Marley Jolie when she graduated from a historically black university in May, having previously gone by the same name during her sorority initiation.
Shiloh Nouvel Jolie Completes Name Change Process
One of Jolie and Pitt’s children has completed the legal process of removing Pitt’s last name. In May 2024, Shiloh applied to change her name to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie on her 18th birthday. In August of that year, a Los Angeles judge approved the petition, making her the first public child of the former couple to go through the formal legal process of changing their name.Another child is known as Vivienne Jolie in a Broadway production she performed with her mother. However, there are no public court records confirming that the professional credit reflects a legal name change.
