Oh My God 2 (2023) is in the news again, sparking new controversy. Controversy starts with actors Paresh Rawal claimed on the podcast that he originally conceived the story for OMG 2, but never received proper credit. The film’s co-producers were quick to deny the claims Ashwin Ward and director Amit Ray. Ashwin went a step further and claimed that Rawal was trying to make a similar film under a different title, claiming that the intellectual property rights belonged to him while also trying to push for the lead role. Paresh Rawal denies any issues with Akshay Kumar
Paresh was quick to deny any suggestion of trouble with Akshay in an interview with Hindustan Times. “Arre bhaiya, Akshay and I are going to do Bhagam Bhag 2 next, which is Ashwin’s film. Bhooth Bangla bhi ki abhi. Meri Akshay is indeed a problem. Why should I do this? On Ashwin and Amit’s reaction after commenting on the source of the story, Paresh said, “My relationship with Amit goes back a long way and he is a hard-working, research-based writer. The actor questioned why he was seeking writing credits at this stage of his acting career.
