This is about us,” Buck wrote.“I am a student, and at some point, we are all students. Every child deserves an education, safety and a fair chance in life. These are not privileges, they are basic rights.”Speaking about the students and children who lost their lives, Barker said they deserved a better future.“They are destined to be the future of our country,” she wrote, adding that “their dreams, their potential and their future should be protected.”Barker also said the matter should not be viewed through a political lens and urged people to focus on issues that affect everyone.“This is not about pushing for or against any political party. It’s about the things that really matter – education, the environment, safety and accountability. These are issues that affect every one of us, regardless of our beliefs,” she said.The Olympic medalist said she was saddened that the students were facing such a situation and stressed that they deserved better.“I am incredibly proud to represent my country. That is why it is deeply heartbreaking to see students suffer like this. We owe them more. We owe every child a future where they can learn, grow and dream without fear,” she added.
