Philip Grenz, who has represented Sam Neill for years, confirmed in a news report that the beloved Hollywood icon has left his paradise after suffering complications from pneumonia. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Grenz said the actor always wanted privacy, which is why his family will hold a quiet memorial service for him soon.He added, “Because Sam was a very private man who hated making a fuss, his family will hold a private family memorial service for him at his farm in New Zealand at a date yet to be determined. I would like to thank those who were truly close to Sam for considering his privacy and giving him the respect he earned and the dignity and respect his loved ones deserved during this extremely difficult time.”Grenz also added in the statement that if fans and netizens wish to pay their respects to Neil, they should donate to one of the many causes that Neil believed in. The “Peaky Blinders” actor is known for his philanthropy and environmentalism. He owns his own farm and often speaks actively about protecting the environment. The statement added that this could include any New Zealand charity or fund that supports the sustainability, protection and conservation of New Zealand’s wildlife, native bush and land, such as the New Zealand Nature Trust and Sustainable Land.“
Four Sam Neill projects to be released posthumously
In the same report, his rep also confirmed that Neal has been involved in approximately four projects that have yet to be released. These projects “will be released in the coming months,” he continued. Two of those confirmed projects include the romantic comedy “The Last Resort,” and his appearance in the sci-fi thriller “Godzilla x Kong: Supernova.” As of this writing, details on the other two projects have yet to be shared online.
