Nick opens up to Priyanka about the anxious moments leading up to his proposal, revealing how an unexpected delay nearly derailed his best-laid plans. “When we got engaged, I planned it to be at midnight after her birthday. Our flight was delayed, making us 3-4 hours late. ” Nick said, explaining that he had been keeping track of time in his head while Priyanka was oblivious. “Now I’m counting the minutes in my head, and she’s like, ‘Are you stressed? ‘” Nick recalled.
Nick Jonas keeps Priyanka in the dark
Priyanka admitted she had no idea what was going to happen next. “I didn’t know that. I thought we were just going on vacation,” she said. Nick said they ended up arriving in Greece well behind schedule, nervously keeping track of time during dinner. “I’ve been watching the clock. I feel like this is going to be a disaster. We’re not going to get it right,” he shared. Priyanka, for her part, sensed something was off but just blamed it on Nick’s personality. “I just want to know, why is he so anxious about this holiday? Is he this kind of person?” she joked.
Nick Jonas finally pops the question
Around 2:30 a.m., just as Priyanka mentioned going to bed, Nick told her that he had one more gift for her. He walked back to get the ring, then got down on one knee and proposed. Nick recalled that Priyanka didn’t say yes right away, and she spent nearly a minute just staring at him while he nervously waited with the ring. “I said I had one more gift for you. I went back to the room, grabbed the ring and proposed to you. And that was it. But she didn’t agree immediately. It took her about 40 to 50 seconds. She stared at me. “I got down on my knees and said, ‘Should I put a ring on it?'” he recalled. However, Priyanka clarified that he had already put the ring on before she could give her answer.
