BMW Group India reported its best-ever first-half sales performance, delivering 9,075 vehicles between January and June 2026. The luxury automaker’s sales increased 17% year-over-year during the period, while second-quarter sales also rose 17% to 4,507 vehicles.The main contributor to the company’s strong performance was its electric vehicle portfolio. BMW Group India sold 2,359 electric vehicles in the first six months of 2026, a year-on-year increase of 78%. The company said electric vehicles accounted for 26% of its total car sales during the period, meaning one in every four cars delivered by the BMW Group in India was electric. BMW also said it has China’s leading luxury electric vehicle brand, with a 69% market share in this segment.BMW Group India also plans to launch 14 more products under its brands by the end of 2026.Demand for the company’s long-wheelbase models continues to grow, with sales increasing 24% from the same period last year to 4,428 units. These models contributed 52% of the company’s total sales in the first half of the year. At the same time, sales of BMW and MINI SUVs increased by 35% to 5,926 units, accounting for 65% of total sales.MINI also performed strongly, with sales of 504 units in the first half of 2026, a 70% increase from last year.
